Music

I am a musician. Well, a very amateur one, at least. I used to sing more for church and school and such. I’m afraid I haven’t done much with my music for a few years. In High School, I enjoyed performing for talent shows and played guitar for and/or sang songs like Smashing Pumpkin’s (Fleetwood Mac’s) “Landslide,” Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ “Where the Wild Roses Grow,” and Stephen Curtis Chapman’s “When you are a Soldier.”

I recently transcribed Alan Jackson’s “Where were you?”, a song about September 11th. When I heard the song, I wanted to be able to play and sing it, but found that OLGA had no existing entry. So, i tried to figure it out and submit my transcription. You can find my transcription on OLGA, the on-line guitar archive. OLGA requires removing most lyrics from a transcription, however, so i am providing my original full transcription here.

Eventually, i would like to spend more time with my guitar and write and perform my own music. Just one more thing I need more time to do.
